PUBLIC TRUST SYSTEM
SPREAD THROUGH EMPIRE Inquiries into the working of tlie Public Trust Office in- New Zealand were received during last year from Japan and from Mexico, states the Public Trustee, Mr. J. W. Macdonald, in his annual report. The scheme of State trusteeship was inaugurated in New Zealand in 1872, and was soon developed fn Western Australia and in England. It has since been established in most other British colonies and Dominions, and an interest is now being taken in several countries outside the Empire.
