DOMINION DAY

OBSERVANCE ON MONDAY PENSIONS WILL BE PAID Next Thursday is Dominion Day. On September 26, 22 years ago, New Zealand faced the world as a grownup member of the British Empire family. The official holiday will be observed next Monday, in accordance with the usual custom. The holiday will be observed by legal and Government offices and banks, while the Stock Exchange and offices of members of the Real Estate Institute will also be closed.

Monday is also pension day, but pensioners will not be penalised by the holiday. The pensions office will be open as usual and all pensions will be paid.
