WAIKATO WELFARE LEAGUE
NO SUPPORT FROM COUNCIL From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. The movement started in Hamilton to employ a court missioner and social service worker will not have the active support of the borough council. At the meeting of the council last evening, the Waikato Social Welfare League asked the council to appoint a representative. The Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, said that owing to the possibility or nnancial liability, it was inadvisable for the council to appoint a delegate. The council was already paying a big levy for charitable aid.
