SYDNEY TEAM’S VISIT ARRANGEMENTS IN HAND Arrangements are in hand for the visit of the South Sydney League team, the premier New South Wales team, to Auckland next month. Th© emergency committee of the council of th© New Zealand Rugby Football League last evening decided to accept the offer of a visit from the Sydney club, and suggested October 12, 16, and 19 as dates for three matches to be played at Auckland. The committee arrived at its decision after a deputation from the council, consisting of Messrs. R. Doble and E. Stallworthy, had waited on the management committee of the Auckland League regarding the question of ground charges for the patches. Mr. Stallworthy inforn%d the committee that the visitors would play three matches in Auckland, but the guarantee was high, and generous terms regarding ground charges were necessary before the New Zealand Council would enntertain the visit. Several delegates expressed the opinion that the usual gate charges should be made, provided the tour was a success. The chairman, Mr. Geo. Rhodes, favoured this suggestion, which was accepted by the emergency committee of the New Zealand Council.
