PUKEKOHE TENNIS CLUB
SUCCESSFUL PLAYING SEASON Froni Our Own Correspondent PUKEKOHE, Today. At the annual meeeting of the Pukokolie Tennis Club last evening, Mr. W. M. S. Hood presiding, the report stated that the scheme to provide the club with six new chip courts was completed. and the courts had been the subject of pleased comment. From a playing point of view, the season had been a successful one for the club, and with the new courts, prospects for the coming season were bright. The election of officers resulted: Patron. Mr. H. IT. Pattle: president. Dr. L. J. Foreman Bull: vice-presidents. Hr. J. MeWhirter and Mr. W. K. Richards; secretary. Mr. \Y. Field Porter: treasurer. Mr. R. G. Summerville: auditor, Mr. H. H. Kissling: referee. Mr. AY. C. Morrin: committeemen. Messrs. C. H. Jemison, Morrin, Hood, and J. A. Sommerville; ladies’ committee. Met—dames Hood. AY. Bayly, Hosking. Sommerville. Campbell. Ilatt. L. Bayly. and McAYhirter, and Alisses AT. Lysnar and R. Johns: club captain. Air. AI. S. Campbell: vice-captain. Air. A. Al. Spooner: delegates to Franklin Tennis Association. Alessrs. Porter. Morrin. and J. A. Sommerville: selection committee. Alessrs. Morrin. Porter, and Richards. October 5 was tentatively fixed as the opening day. It was decided to recommend to the club’s delegates to the Franklin Association that the number of Association matches be decreased to allow of further development of club matches. A set of buttons for challenge play on the club ladder was presented by Air. Kissling.
