TERI’S NON-REGISTRATION OWNER DEPRIVED OF STAKE (United P.A.—-By Telegraph — Copyright) SYDNEY, Monday. Mr. H. T. Hume, owner of the New Zealand horse Teri. was fined £lO by the Australian Jockey Club for failing to register his horse after arrival. The stewards found that the nonregistration of Tcri was an oversight, but they decided to deprive the owner of third place gained by the horse in the Campsie Handicap at the Canterbury races on September 7. They directed that the prize money should be refunded. The jockey W.’Cook appeared before the committee of the Australian Jockey Club. It was alleged that he broke an arrangement to ride Crucis in the Chelmsford Stakes. Cook rode Mollison, the winner of that race. Cook was exonerated. The trouble was due to a misunderstanding. A bombshell was thrown among racing men today by the withdrawal of Ramulus from the Epsom Handicap owing to an injury. The horse kicked himself while he was running in the Tramway Handicap on Saturday and his leg filled. He is to be taken out of work. Scooping the Pool Sydney pony jockeys L. Sharpe and E. Mills have received a lion's share of the riding- fees for the last two meetings. At Victoria Park there were 10 races on the programme, and between them the riders were on six of the winners, each having three successes. At the next fixture the percentage was even better, for with 1 2 races on the programme the two rode eight winners, Sharpe being five times first past the post and Mills three.
