AMENDMENT TO ACT URGED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Members of the Makara County Council, which lies between 'Wellington and the Straits, and is practically all hills, are greatly concerned with the spreading gorse. One speaker at a recent meeting predicted that in a few years the whole country would be one vast gorse patch. A motion was carried supporting to have the Noxious Weeds Act amended. The opinion was also expressed that the Government should do something with the gorse on its own lands.
