SURPRISE PARTY TO CELEBRATE 21ST BIRTHDAY
Miss Alberta McMillan was hostess last Thursday evening at a jolly little surprise party in No. 3 Glenside Flats, to celebrate the coming-of-age of her sister, Gwen. A cheery fire made the big room very cosy, and vases of tall Iceland poppies added a gay note of colour. Miss Alberta McMillan had on a gracefully dipping frock of sunset pink satin faille appliqued with motifs of black ring velvet. Miss Gwen McMillan chose rose pink and black flowered ninon with short coatee of camellia pink ring velvet. Miss Nita Xardi had on a lace frock worn over parchment tinted chiffon. Miss Barbara Porter’s bouffant flowered taffeta gown was of sea foam green. Miss K. McGill chose honey beige georgette and lace. Miss Olive Chiplin was in a becoming taffeta frock of peach pink.
