SPRING FLOWER SHOW
AUCKLAND SOCIETY’S FIXTURE
Added Interest will be created by the fact that the Auckland Horticultural Society intends holding Us forthcoming daffodil show at the Scots Hall, in conjunction with the National Daffodil Society. Many well-known Wellington and Taranaki growers have expressed their intention of competing and a most successful show is assured. Mr. Guy L. Wilson, a noted English grower and hybridist, will judge the blooms at the show. DAFFODIL SHOW Added interest in this year’s daffodil show held under the auspices of the Auckland Horticultural Society is given by the fact that the New Zealand National Daffodil Society’s North Island show is to be held in Conjunction with it. Many of the big growers from Wellington and Taranaki have notified their intention of competing and a most successful show is already assured. Growers from the South are noted for the rich colouring they are able to obtain in their blooms and many daffodils not previously seen in Auckland will be on exhibition. Another item of considerable interest to the daffodil grower is the fact that Mr. Guy Li. Wilson, a noted grower and hybridist from the Old Country, is on a visit to New Zealand to see our daffodils and Is judging the blooms at this show. This year the show is to be held in Scots Hall, and it is hoped that the society will obtain the public support that such a show warrants.
