The work at Arapuni that is beingcarried out to check the erosion at the spillway is proving effective, according to the officer in charge, Mr. T. Rabone. Mr. Rabone added that more protec-tive-works are to be carried out, and it may be necessary to divert the water through the tunnel while work at the spillway is in progress.

The Public Works Department, has requested owners of boats on the lake to haul them clear of the water and to leave them secured.
