STOREKEEPER’S CLAIM

20 YEARS SUPPLIES DEBT REPUDIATED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. A former storekeeper of Waitangi, Chatham Islands, May Santos, and wife of a Waitangi sheepfarmer, is pursuing a claim in the Supreme Court for £926 4s 2d from Piri Pomare, principally for goods supplied to his wife over a period of 20 years. Defendant, it is alleged, on May 16, 1927, admitted his indebtedness to the extent of £7BO.

On various grounds, including overcharging and that the debt includes liquor for his wife, the claim is repidiated by defendant, except £42 odd on a judgment summons. (Proceeding.)
