When the meeting of the creditors of • William Pepperill, a confectioner, of | Willis Street, was held today, it was : stated that bankrupt had disappeared. I and it had been necessary to make him a bankrupt by advertisement. His creditors had formerly treated him ! with consideration, but now they were j not so sympathetic. They decided, however, that it was j hardly worth while to take drastic j steps. They carried two resolutions, ; ; one requesting a statement of accounts j from the vendor of the business to j bankrupt, the other requesting proof j 1 from the firm that its goods were sent i to Pepperill on consignment.
