LAST OF THE SEASON

COMMUNITY SINGING ENDS The last community sing of the season attracted a large crowd to the Town Hall today, the building being practically filled. The whole of the song-leaders during the season were present on the platform, and took it in turns to lead the singing, and the programme was so long that when the time to ciose came the audience decided that it be extended. Mr. Vernon Drew was in the chair and he kept the song-leaders busy. Some told stories, others sang, and some just led the singing, but all did their part in bringing the 1929 season to a successful end. The large crowd thoroughly enjoyed itself, and the ushering out of the season was anything but dull.
