HOUSE DESTROYED

FIRE AT ONEHUNGA UNOCCUPIED AT TIME Fire destroyed a four-roomed cottage on the corner of Oranga and Rawhlti Roads, Onehunga, at 1.46 on Sunday morning. The building was enveloped in flames when the brigade arrived and is practically a total loss. It was occupied by Mr. E. L. Crawshaw until Saturday afternoon, when the tenant removed the furniture and with the exception of a few articles in one of the rooms the house was empty. Apparently the fire had obtained a strong hold before being observed by the neighbours, and the alarm was consequently given too late for the services of the brigade to 'be of any use.

The house was owned by Mr. L. Farmenter, of Brighton Road, Parnell.
