A GOOD TEST
THE training track at Epsom was in fine order this morning, when several trainers stepped their charges out briskly. The chief item was an interesting 12furlong bout in which Gold Jacket (J. McMahon), Torpedo Huon (L. McMahon), Dillon Huon (J. McKendrick), Jewel Pointer (A. Julian) and Mountain Dell (A. Mitchell) were the participants. Dillon Huon showed the way to his companions and the field was bunched with a mile covered in good time. The pace was then clapped on, Dillon Huon leading at a merry clip. In the final run Gold Jacket and Mountain Dell came at the leader, and the former finished with him at the wire, Mountain Dell about a neck away and Jewel Pointer and Torpedo Huon handy. Considering the high society she was associated with, Mountain Dell’s effort was a distinctly pleasing one, and the watch recorded smart time for the journey.
