YOUNG MAN SENTENCED
SUPPRESSION OF NAME REFUSED MAGISTRATE’S REASONS Press Association PALMERSTON N„ Today.
In the Police Court this morning, Henry Brewerton Harford, aged 24, pleaded guilty to the theft of £2B, the property of Combined Motor Services. He was admitted to probation for two
years. An application for the suppression of liis name was refused, the magistrate saying that it was his opinion that the right of suppression should only be for juveniles. The publication of the name was a part of the punishment, particularly when probation was granted instead of imprisonment.
