Auckland Bride in Picture Gown

Miss Dorothy Griffiths Has Six Attendants WEDDING OF WIDE INTEREST St. Barnabas’s Church, Mount Eden, was beautifully decorated with arches of pink and white roses for the wedding last evening of Miss Dorothy May Griffiths, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Griffiths, Mount Eden, to Mr. Norman E. Crimp, of Whangarei, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Crimp, of Dunedin. The service, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. E. E. Hamford, and Mr. G. K. Knight was at the organ. Miss Laura Walker sang a solo in the church after the ceremony. Given away by her father, the bride was a picture of old-world loveliness in her gown of ivory chenille embossed georgette, with a tulle skirt of flared frills dipping to the ground at the back. Tiny sprigs of orange blossom were caught among the frills of the skirt, and a spray of orange blossom finished the waistline. ROSES AND AZALEAS She carried a bouquet of white roses and azaleas and pink carnations. Tier embroidered tulle veil, caught with a posy of orange blossom at each side, fell in graceful folds to form a train, which was carried by little Denise Holmes. The trainbearer’s pretty frock was of primrose georgette with petal pointed skirt edged with tiny pleats. The cross-over bodice was also finished with the pleating, and she wore a silver cap with sprays of rosebuds at each side. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Ruby Ovens, who wore cameo pink georgette. The skirt, which dipped at the back, was inset with silver lace, and silver lace also relieved the tunic bodice. A swathed belt* was finished in front with a diamente buckle. On h€:r hair she wore a pink tulle cap with streamer ends, caught with pink rosebuds. Her bouquet was of pink and blue flowers. Next in attendance were the TWO MAIDS IN GREEN Misses Dorothy Badcock and Mavis Hearling. Their delightful frocks of sea-foam green georgette were similarly made with tiny frills forming circular panels on the uneven-length skirts. The graceful collars were finished with a posy and pink velvet streamers in the front. They wore bandeaux of silver leaves and rosebuds. Two little flower-girls, Misses j Bunty and Robena Gaudin, were • quaintly froeked in hand-painted ivory \ crepe de chine. Their silver baskets j were filled with rose petals and round their hair they wore floral bandeaux. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Gordon S. Crimp. Hamilton. After the wedding a reception was held at the home of Mrs. H. H. Gaudin in Owens Road. Mrs. Griffiths wore a striking gown of black and cedar rose embossed chenille, with touches of platinum and Canton jade. Her black satin hat was relieved with toning shade and she carried rose and cyclamen flowers. Mrs. 11. Gaudin’s smart frock was of black, gold embossed net over cloth of gold.
