FARMERS ENTERTAINED
VISITORS FROM SOUTHLAND Press Association DANNEVIRKE, Today. Southland farmers and their wives, who have been touring Hawke’s Bay, broke the journey fc?outh at Dannevirke at noon today, being - entertained at a luncheon organised by the Citizens’ Committee. representing both town and country interests. Speeches of welcome were delivered by the Mayor, Mr. Marcus Smith, and Mr. James Livingston, president of the Farmers’ Union. Subsequently the visitors were taken for a motor ride through the dairying districts before again entraining for Masterton. The visit was marked by fine weather, and proved an acceptable break in the train journey.
