SCHOOL TEACHER’S FRAUDS
VALUELESS CHEQUES ISSUED (From Gv.r Ovjn CorrespondentJ OPOTIKI, Today. A school teacher, Hilton Thompson, was charged in the Opotiki Police Court today with issuing; valueless cheques to the value of £2O. For accused, counsel stated Thompson had already made good the amount of the cheques. As he had already been in gaol for 10 days counsel asked for probation, also for suppression of accused’s name. Accused pleaded guilty to five charges and Mr. S. L. Paterson refused the request for the suppression of the name, and admitted accused to probation lor two years.
