A middle-aged woman who was arrested at Gisborne on Saturday evening on a charge of vagrancy was found to have banknotes amounting to £570 in her battered handbag. She received the money from a building society in another town some months ago and had carried the notes about with her, thinking they would be safer in her possession than in a bank. The woman was sent to relatives. [The money has been placed in a bank.
