BUTCHER’S KNIFE SLIPS

TWO ARTERIES SEVERED While working in a butcher’s shop ht the foot of Lower Queen Street yesterday afternoon an employee of Hellaby’s, Limited, cut his arm severely when a knife slipped. Mr. M. D. Webber, of 4 Abbott Street, Newton, was engaged in boning a ham when the large knife he was using slipped and cut deeply into his wrist and arm, severing two arteries. The St. John Ambulance took him to the Auckland Hospital, where a minor operation was performed to seal up the wound.- He had lost a fair amount of blood,’ but was allowed to go to his home for the night, as it was not considered that the wound was dangerous
