Weekly Dance
Akarana Yacht Club Many attended the weekly dance held by the Akarana Yacht Club on Saturday evening. Novelties added to the enjoyment of the evening, and Stacey’s Orchestra provided a bright dance programme. Committee members present were: Mrs. T. McKay, who wore navy blue crepe de chine. Mrs. G. Miller, in a flowered crepe de chine gown. Mrs. T. Jeffers, who wore ravenswing blue relieved with oriental trimming. Miss M. R. Ratcliffe, wearing rose satin and gold lace. Among the club members and friends present were: Miss D. Boyes, wearing black satin beaute. Miss McGill, in blue crepe de chine. Miss G. Mclvor, who wore lilac taffeta. Miss R. Booth, in a rose georgette frock. Miss L. Boyes, wearing green georgette. Miss Pearce, in alice blue taffeta. Miss Stewart, who wore black velvet and chenille. Miss J. Grimmer, in cyclamen lace and Miss L. Cooper, wearing green georgette and gold lace. Miss M. Grimmer, in black satin and georgette. Miss Trood, in a frock of cerise crepe de chine and silver. Miss F. Willetts, who wore green taffeta. Miss T. Brame, in a shell pink georgette frock. Miss R. Christmas, In green and gold shot taffeta. Miss M. Craddock, wearing lime georgette. Miss J. Smith, in a black georgette and silver lace gown. Miss Roundell, wearing ivory georgette. Miss E. Smith, who wore orange taffeta and blue trimmings. Miss K. McKay, m a biscuit crepe de chine gown. Miss Fort, who had chosen blue georgette. Miss Stacey, in a frock of blue crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss R. Smith, wearing cherry taffeta and gold lace. Miss , IT. Roberts, in delphinium blue georgette. Miss M. Herrick, who wore flame talfeta and georgette. Miss Howell, in a frock of blue georgette. Miss E. Weymouth, m flame crepe de chine and geoi*gette. . Miss D. Douglas, wearing shell pink taffeta and tulle. Miss D. Bowman, who wore apricot Miss E. Kelly, wearing cameo pink georgette over satin. Miss C. Mariano, in cerise georgette embossed with silver. Miss P. Smyth, who chose floral crepe de chine 'and chiffon velvet. Miss J. Bradley, in a gold tinsel gown. Miss S. Anderson, in a peach taffeta frock.
Miss A. Nightingale, in green georgette ! and diamente. Miss M. Shaw, who wore jade charmeuse, shoulder posy. Miss M. Langton, wearing apple green crepe de chine and lace. Miss M. Wallace, in eau de nil taffeta and silver lace. Miss Noble, whose frock was of mauve shot taffeta and gold. Miss N. Belcher, in a lemon crepe de chine frock. Miss D. Langton, in cyclamen crepe de chine and gold lace. Miss R. Wills, wearing green georgette. Miss M. Gemmell, in rose and blue taffeta. ~ Miss V. Williams, who wore gold satin and black tulle. . Miss C. Power, in a frock of white crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss Smeeth, wearing pink embossed georgette. Miss J. Collier, who liad chosen apricot crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss D. Jewiss, wearing blue crepe de chine and figured georgette. Miss Cecile West, who wore rose pink georgette. „ Miss Pat Vercoe, in an embossed flame crepe de chine gown. Miss J. Miller, in a frock of cyclamen crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss C. Foster, wearing apple green velvet and silver lame hem. Mrs. Lidgard, who wore shell pink georgette and tulle. Miss Miller, in a frock of moonlight blue georgette and silver tissue. Miss Pickworth, wearing cherry taffeta. Miss J. Verran, whose frock was of shell pink georgette. Miss M. Power, in a red crepe de chine and gold lace gown. Miss A. Cook, who wore figured georgette. SOCIAL EVENING OTAHUHU SCOTS There was a large attendance at the fortnightly social evening of the Otahuhu St. Andrew’s Society, held in St. Andrew's Hall on Thursday evening. Dancing was indulged in to musicsupplied by Mrs. Greenlees. Extras were played by Miss E. Riddell. The duties of master of ceremonies were carried out by Mr. H. McKechnie. Between dances musical items were given by Mr. A. MacDonald. A novelty competition was won by Miss Chris. Gardiner and Mr. J. Cook. A surprise packet competition was won by Miss E. Ryburn.
