NO BREACH OF AWARD WASHING PLATES USUAL Judgment for defendant was given by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday in the case of Frederick William Prior, restaurant proprietor, who was proceeded against by Mr. J. Hollows, inspector of awards. The magistrate had reserved his decision. The inspector suggested that a servant who was employed as a pantrymaid had part of her time occupied in washing dishes, which, he urged, entitled her to the higher rate of paygiven a kitchen worker The magistrate expressed himself as satisfied that it was the custom in restaurants for the pantrymaid to wash all plates from the dining room.
