FINES AGAINST THREE MEN DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR Following on over-indulgence in liquor on Saturday afternoon, three men had to be arrested as a result of their disorderly behaviour in the evening. The trio was fined in the Police Court this morning. Raymond Victor Lawless, aged 24, *>as charged with behaving in a disorderly manner in a dance hall. He pleaded guilty, and Sub-Inspector McCarthy attributed his actions to the result of a drinking bout earlier in the day. “He was going round the iance hall bumping into people and Panting to dance with the women,” continued the sub-inspector. “He was also annoying some sailors from the Emden.” It was mentioned that Lawless had been fined £2 for using obscene language as recently as March 22. Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M.: T remember. His previous line is doubled. Lawless was fined £4, in default 14 days’ imprisonment. WANTED TO FIGHT Charles Snowden Hewitt, aged 23, Was described as being found with his eoat and hat off squared up for a fight. “He had either been fighting or was looking for a fight,” commented the sub-inspector. Hewitt pleaded guilty to being disorderly while drunk. Be was fined £2, in default seven cays’ imprisonment. WOULD NOT GO HOME Refusing to go home when accosted by Constable Pretious on Saturday evening, Robert Samuel Campbell had to be arrested. He was allowed bail yesterday and did not appear In the Police Court this morning. According to the constable, Campbell, who was charged with being drunk and disorderly, had been staggering about getting in people's way and throwing his hat on the pavement. When told by witness to go home, the man had used bag language. Campbell was fined £3, in default seven days’ imprisonment. A charge °f using obscene language was withdrawn.
