MOTORIST'S EXPENSIVE LAPSE

Charges of being intoxicated while ln charge of a motor-car, with driving at an excessive and dangerous speed, and failing to keep to the left, were preferred against William Herlihy, jarawera. in the Te Awamutu Police Court yesterday. Alter hearing evidence, the MagisMr. F. W. Platts, said he was not prepared to convict on the charge intoxication or on that of driving at a dangerous speed, but there would be a conviction and a fine of £ 2 for driv- - Ing on the wrong side of the road, t ost* totalled £ll Is Bd.
