MAIDS DRESSED IN FORGET-ME-NOT BLUE AND EAU-DE-NIL
RUMBLES —O’HALLORAN On Tuesday evening a quiet wedding took place at Pukeahua, when Margaret Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. O’Halloran, was married to Charles Murray, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rumbles. The ceremony took place at “Taku Kainga,” the residence of the bride’s parents, the Rev. Father Schoonof officiating.
The bride chose for her wedding gown rich ivory satin, with slender corsage and long close-fitting sleeves finishing in sharp points over the hands. The pretty flared skirt dipped to ankle-length on one side. Her trailing silk tulle veil was caught with a coronet of silver leaves and peat Is. She carried a bouquet of white and mauve flowers and maidenhair fern. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Maureen O’Halloran, sister of the bride, who wore a delphinium blue period frock, with petalled hem dipping gracefully to the wearer s ankles at either side, and on the shoulder a posy of contrasting shade. The second bridesmaid was Miss Ursula O’Halloran. also sister of the bride, who was attired in.a frock of eau de nil silk taffeta, with close-fitting bodice, full petalled skirt appliqued in gold and silver, and trimmed with gold beads.
| Both bridesmaids wore head-cresses ; or tulle to tone with tlielr frocl lf-Z ll shower bouquets were of blue ana I white and pink and white flowers i respectively. . _ ! Mr Bruce Rumbles carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. Andrew Rumbles was groomsman. | Mr* O’Halloran received her guests ! wearing a brown silk marocain frock, black fur coat and hat to tone. Mrs. MacCrackin, aunt of the bride. wore a black crepe de chine frock, black fur coat and blue hat. i onlv the nearest relatives .y 1 friends were present at the wedding breakfast, but later in the evening ; some sixtv young people were enter- , tained The drawing room was deeoiued with golden-tinted blooms and the sitting room with scarlet and white travelling costume was of Kpi-e hat to tone, worn with grey fo:i furl, a present from the bridegroom.
