CAMELLIAS AND ROSES
BRIDAL GOWN OF IVORY RING VELVET GILMOUR—MANNINGTON A. quiet wedding took place at St. Mark’s Church, Te Aroha, last Saturday afternoon, when Edith Beryl, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mannington, of Manawaru, was married to Hugh Francis Gilmour. The Rev. Mr. Connolly officiated. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was attired m a medieval frock of ivory ring velvet with a wedding veil of silk tulle, hand embroidered at the corners. She carried a bouquet of red and white camellias and roses, and wore a handsome Indian beryl ring, the gift of the groom. Her mother attended her. Mr. David Gilmour, brother of the groom, carried out the duties of best man. Before leaving for the Majestic Tea Rooms, where the reception was held, the bride placed her bouquet at the foot of the war memorial. At the Majestic Tea Rooms a large gathering assembled. Those present included: Major and Mrs. Walker, Rev. and Mrs. Connolly, Mr. and Mrs. Morton, Mr. and Mrs. .Tenner, Mrs. McMullan, Mr. and Mrs. Fisk. Mr. and Mrs. Fulton. Mr. and Mrs. and Miss Hyndman. At the bridal table were Messrs. Brian, Richard, Hector. David, Peter and Robin Mannington, and Misses Rosemary and Dawn Mannington. After the breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Gilmour left for Auckland.
