LAWN TENNIS
MOUNT ALBERT CLUB There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of Mount Albert Lawn Tennis Club. Mr. S. R. Woodroffe presided. The annual report showed players totalling 127, and the president urged members to obtain new ones for the club, the nine courts amply justifying an increased membership. The winners of the singles championships, 1928-29, Mr. C. Marshall and Mrs. Dent, were presented with the Caughey Cup and the Woodroffe Rose Bowl respectively. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr. C. W. Coles; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. T. Garlick, S. F. Woodroffe, R. H. Cockroft; hon. secretary, Mr. D. Sumner; hon. treasurer, Mr. C. B. Dent; lawn superintendent, Mr. S. F. Woodroffe; general committee, Messrs. A. Lawrence, G. T. Brebner, A. L. Caughey, A. S. Miller, G. L. Rice, T. Copsey; ladies’ committee, Mrs. Masefield, Mrs.' Miller. Mrs. Lawrance, Miss White, Miss Seabrook; delegates to Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs. F. C. Ellis, A. T. Garlick.
