DARGAVILLE DRUIDS

P.A. Bro. A. E. Benn, who has held the position of secretary of the Northern Oak Bodge of Druids at Dargaville for some time, tendered his resignation at last evening’s meeting owing to his leaving Dargaville to go into business at Frankton. He leaves at the end of next week.

The lodge accepted Bro. Bonn’s resignation with regret and a motion of appreciation of his services, not only as secretary, but to Druidism during his residence in the district., was ordered to be placed on the minutes. Several members spoke in glowing terms of Bro. Bonn’s good work for the lodge and friendly societies in general.

At a fitting break in the proceedings the retiring secretary was presented with a gold-mounted fountain pen as a mark of esteem in which he is held by the brethren, P.D.P. Bro. J. Plummer being spokesman on behalf of the lodge. Bro. Benn suitably replied. Bro. N. Gill was elected to the vacancy of secretary, and Bro. Constable was elected A.D. Bard in place of Bro. Duncan MacDonald, who is also leaving the district. Both were duly installed and P-D.p. Igiro. J
