BEST TWO MILES V\7ITH the heavy state of the track on Saturday at Epsom it was only natural that the times for the various events were slow, and it became evident early that there was little chance of two miles being cut out under five minutes. Conditions would be better for the initial run, and Akenehi tramped 5.7 1-5 to win, Floraline going 5.6 4-5 into third place. In the Prince of Wales Handicap, Dundas Boy and Padlock registered 5.6 and 5.4 respectively, Cardinal Logan, the third horse, doing 5.5. Although the class for the Hobson Handicap was nine seconds looser than the big heat, Great Delight, who won in 5.6 2-5, was just over Dundas Boy’s time. The time honours of the day over the longer journey went down to the credit of Evelyn Locanda, who registered 5.3 3-5 for second money in the Hobson Handicap.
