COAL STRIKE THREAT
ENGINE MEN REPUDIATE UNDERTAKING Reed. 9 a.m. LONDON, Friday. It again appears that the Enginedrivers’ Union will precipitate a general coal strike. Mr. Atkins, the union secretary, made a statement which in effect repudiates the undertaking of the combined mining unions to accept Is a ton reduction in wages if the commission finds that the owners’ profits are less than 2s a ton.
