TRAINS CROWDED
RACEGOERS FOR AUCKLAND WEEK-END FOR CITY FOLK Crowds flocked to Auckland today by train for the races, and outgoing trains to Whangarei, Rotorua and Taneatua carried a large number of week-end holiday-makers. The first express from Wellington, usually a comparatively small train, had a total of 20 cars, all full. A large proportion of the passengers had been picked up from the King Country and the Waikato. The Limited, which was half an hour late in arriving, w r as filled to capacity. Large crowffis joined at Frar.kton Junction, though it was a full train on the whole of the journey from Wellington. The prospect of a fine week-end, with a holiday on Monday, sent many city folk into the country. Rotorua was the most favoured spot, with the Bay of Islands second.
