DINNER PARTY
DEBUTANTE’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED PRIOR TO PRESENTATION MISS JACQUELINE NATHAN To celebrate the eighteenth birthday of their only daughter, Miss Jacqueline Nathan, Mr. and Mrs. David Nathan, Manurewa, entertained a number of friends at dinner at the Grand Hotel on Thursday, before going on
to the ball at Government House. Bowls of roses and maidenhair fern were arranged on the table. o Mrs. Nathan’s gown was of lame in softly-blended shades of green, purple and silver inset with fereen georgette panels. Miss Jacqueline Nathan wore a chic French frock of palest primrose taffeta and tulle, with a posy of golden buttercups on one shoulder. Tlie guests were: Mr, and Mrs. Charles Nathan, Lieutenant-Commander Baker Cresswell and Mrs. Cresswel, Commander and Mrs. Branson, Miss Dolly Vaile, Miss Rosemary Waller, Lieutenant Lovegrove, Dr. Coverdale and Mr. M. Louisson. Mrs. Charles Nathan was in a draped gown of canton jade georgette. Mrs. Baker Creswell was wearing a pretty frock of frilled tulle with cloth of silver corsage. Mrs. Branson's gown was of black georgette embroidered with jet and silver beads. Miss Dolly Vaile’s frock was of absinthe green spotted net dipping at the sides. Miss Rosemary Waller wore a frock of gold spotted metal net mounted on gold tissue. The full skirt, falling in graceful, uneven folds, was relieved at the waist with a topaz buckle.
