REGATTA DANCE
PRIZES PRESENTED AT NORTHCOTE FUNCTION GAIEIY IN PALAIS THEATRE Streamers and gaily-coloured balloons twined across the ceiling and stage, reflecting the vivid hues of the surrounding floral decorations in the Palais; Theatre at Northcote on Thursday evening, when the Northcote and Birkenhead Regatta prize presentation and dance was held. Miss May CofieJd contributed two enjoyable songs between the dances, for which excellent music was supplied by Miss N. Mortenson and her orchestra. Messrs. G. Peace and A. Gilfillan were M.C.’s. The women’s committee included: Miss N. Campbell, Mrs. H. Hayman. Misses Rona Devlin, Edna Steele, Olive Reid, Julie McGilp, T. Cauldrey and Robson. Among others present were:— Mrs. It. Hayman, whose frock of black velvet was relieved with silver lace, floral shawl. . . , . Mrs. H. Dowsing, in gros-grain taffeta with a black shawl. Mrs. C. Harkin, who wore a posy of flowers on her rose pink frock. Mrs. G. D. O’Leary, whose gown was of black georgette with a sequin girdle. Mrs. W. Robertson, wearing sea green satin beaute and silver lace. Mrs A. Facer, whose black silk georgette frock was relieved with gold lace. Mrs. A. Wrightson, in moonlight blue crepe de chine and silver lace. . Mrs. C. Beckman, wearing apricot georgette and tulle. . Mrs. J. Denby, who chose a blue charmeuse frock with pearl embroidery. Mrs. G. Peace, who wore black georgette appliciued with taffeta. Mrs. L. Bland, who wore powder blue georgette with a petalled skirt, and blue Sh Mrs'. Fitzpatrick, wearing black satin and black lace, with beaded relief. Mrs. M. Pilcher, in phlox pink charmelaine and silver lace. . „ Mrs. E. Chambers, wearing floral mnon and chiffon velvet. . _ Miss M. Cofield, wearing silver lace over shell pink georgette. Miss D. Casey, in a frock of duchess blue georgette. . Miss Peggie Horan, wearing black taffeta with an uneven hemline. Miss S. Hutt, in a dainty coral georgette frock. , , , Miss P. Hutt, who wore leaf green crepe de chine with shadow hem. Miss Mary Weedon, in a period frock of white satin and georgette. Miss R- Sutherland, m ciel blue satin beaute piped with apricot. Miss F. Jones, wearing frock of sunset georgette and ring velvet. Miss Hilda Facer, whose frock of blue net was trimmed with silver lace. . Miss O. Mentzer, wearing shrimp pink lace with black embroidered shawl. Miss Robson, wearing a frock of pastel pink georgette. Miss Verona Devlm, wearing black crepe de chine, with diamante relief. Miss Edna Steel, who wore black georgette, with uneven hemline over lace. Miss Olive Reed, in a frock of green chiffon velvet, with a net hern. Miss M. Harrison, who wore a. black satin beaute frock, inset with gold lace.. Miss L. Harrison, in a frock of delphinium blue georgette. Miss R- Wilson, who was in applegreen and silver chenille and georgette, with an uneven hemline. Miss G. Wilson, wearing cherry chenille and georgette, with a. dipping hem. Miss D. Mortensen, whose frock of blush pink velvet had cerise rosettes on the skirt. . . , Miss F.
