DINNER PARTY FOR DARGAVILLE FOLK
LEAVING THE DISTRICT MR. AND MRS. D. M. EVANS Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Evans were entertained at dinner by a large number of friends last Wednesday evening. Mr. J. D. Steedman, on behalf of those present, handed to Mrs. Evans a handsome bedroom clock in a. case and to Mr. Evans a gold pencil case. The guests of the evening are leaving Dargaville, and kindly reference was made to their many good qualities in and out of business. Sincere regret was expressed at their departure. Musical items contributed during the evening added to the success of the function. Mr. Evans has been proprietor of the Central Hotel for some years. QUIET WEDDING SCOTT—HARRISON A quiet wedding took place at Te Awamutu on Wednesday between Miss Mary (Xellie) E. Harrison and Mr. George Wm. Scott, of Parawera. The Rev. W. Butterworth was the officiating minister, and Mr. C. F. Futter carried out the duties of best man. Miss Rita Robson attended as bridesmaid.
