WOMEN’S GUILD HAS SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL AFTERNOON AND SALE
PAPATOETOE PRESBYTERIANS The Rev. T. H. Roseveare presided over a large attendance of members and friends of the Papatoetoe branch of the Women’s Guild at a social afternoon held in the school hall, Great South Road, Papatoetoe, on Thursday afternoon. After a few words of welcome, a very enjoyable programme of musical items was contributed by Mrs. J. Gillies, pianoforte solo; Miss Smith, Mr. Salter, Mrs. Carr, Rev. T. H. Roseveare and Mrs. Walker, vocal solos; Misses McFarland and Zoe Richards, elocutionary items; Mrs. 'Waddell and Miss Galloway, vocal duet. Afternoon tea was provided by the members of the guild and was served by Mesdames Hunter, R. McCullough and A. W. Hall. Stalls were erected in the hall and were instrumental in swelling the funds of the guild. They were staffed by Misses M. McFarland and M. Bradstreet, sweet .stall; Miss Ross, Mrs. Muir and Miss Carruth.
