PERMISSION REFUSED HABITS TO BE INVESTIGATED (From Our Oxen Correspondent) TE KUITI, Wednesday. During the recent visit of the Micistfer of Lands to Te Kuiti, a deputation from the Waitomo Acclimatisation Society asked that permission be granted to liberate opossums in tfce Ilerangi Ranges, on the westera boundary of the King Country. Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., btf* received a reply from the Minister «* Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. & Perrelle, advising that owing sentations that have been and against the further liberation ft the animals, it has been decided to conduct a scientific investigation ts to their habits, so that definite and reliable information will be available on which to base a decision. Pendirs the result of such investigation it has been decided to defer consideration of all applications for further liberation.
