LIGHT ON EVOLUTION SERIES OF LECTURES “As a result of the discussions concerning Evolution, the science men at the college have thought it their duty to put forward a reasoned statement on the subject,” said Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie, who presided at yesterdayis meeting om the Auckland University College Council. In a report to the council it was stated that Professors Sperrin-John-son, Burbidge and Bartrum were giving a series of free public lectures on Evolution, the first being held tomorrow evening. “They do not wish to discuss the religious or controversial aspects of the subject,” continued Mr. Mackenzie, “but merely to state what has been discovered and what inferences can be drawn from those discoveries.”
