HOWICK TOWN BOARD
Some of the members of the Howick Town Board objected, at Thursday evening’s meeting of the board, because the question of concrete roading was not discussed at a recent ratepayers’ meeting. After a long discussion, it was decided to call another public meeting, when Mr. F. M.. Waters, chairman of the Manukau County Council, and Mr.
Page, engineer, will be invited to ad 7 dress the meeting. When the question of appointing a consulting engineer came up for discussion, the chairman declined to accept a motion by Mr. H. Bushell, the board go into committee. Out of nine applicants, Mr. Gr-eville Walker was appointed, and the clerk was authorised to instruct him to draw up specifications for the concrete roading work. A grant of £2 was authorised to beautify the triangle fronting the Marine Hotel.
