EXPRESS TO NORTH
OPPOSITION TO TIMETABLE (Special to THE SUS ) WHANGAREI, Friday. Protests against the proposed alteration in the time-table of the North Auckland express were made at the meeting of the Whangarei County Council today. In moving that a protest be made. Mr. L. A. Johnson said considerable inconvenience would be caused to Northern travellers, who would not be able to arrive here before dark. The only passengers who would benefit would be those connecting from the
Southern express, estimated at 1 per cent. Mr. F. Elliott, who seconded the motion, considered the proposal ver retrogressive. Alai Is. as well as passengers, would ! be affected, said Mr. T. N. Blake, who was afraid that if the change weir carried out the county service cars would leave before the arrival of tl* train and mails and passengers would not be taken out until next day.
