FESCUE MENACE
POSITION AT ORONGO SETTLERS AGAIN PROTEST “All we can do is tell you the old, old story. . . . “No cow can live at Orongo for more than three months because of the tall fescue. “The artesian water is salty and cows simply drink themselves to death at the troughs.” These were some of the statements made' to the Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands and Agriculture, who met settlers yesterday. They told him of their trials and hardships at Orongo in hundreds of acres of fescue-covered country,. .
