FOREST PRODUCTS

EXPERT’S INVESTIGATIONS IN CANADA MR. ENTRICAN RECOVERING (From Our Resident Reporter) WELLINGTON, To-day. Remarkable progress has been made by Mr. A. R. Entrican, forest products engineer to the State Forest Service. Only a few weeks ago Mr. Entrican was confiend to bed gravely ill from a rare disease, which paralysed him almost completely. To-day he is walking about on crutches. Mr. Entrican’s restoration to health is fraught with important consequences for New' Zealand. Last year he was sent by the Government to America and Europe to investigate the possibilities of using New Zealand’s huge areas of unprofitable woods for the manufacture of paper pulp. After many experiments in conjunction with the United States Bureau of Agriculture, Mr. Entrican returned to the Dominion, and was engaged upon preparing his report for Cabinet when he became ill.
