SURVEY OF N.Z. COAST
CITY OF NEW YORK COULD BE USED OTAGO SUGGESTION Press Association DUNEDIN, To-day. On the suggestion of the Hon. G. M. Thomson, the Otago Institute is urging on the Government the desirability of endeavouring to secure the services of the City of New York, the Byrd Antarctic Expedition supply ship, now tied up for the winter at Port Chalmers, and her staff, for hydrographic work on the New Zealand coast. Mr. Thomson expressed the view that a survey of the coast would be invaluable to fishing work.
