SUBURBAN FIRES

KITCHEN DESTROYED OUTBREAK AT GREY LYNN The kitchen of a house, owned and occupied by Mr. L. E. Barella. at 38 Warwick Avenue, Grey Lynn, was gutted by fire about 7.30 last evening. The contents of the kitchen were destroyed, and the rest of the house was damaged by smoke. The City and Western District Fire Brigades answered the call and prevented the flames from spreading. The house was insured for £OOO in the Government Office, and the contents for £2OO in the South British Office. A grass fire broke out ««n property owned by Mr. Dudcr in Ilinemoa Avenue. Devonpart. at 3.45 afternoon. The Devonport Fire Brigade suppressed the outbreak before any damage was done.
