PROGRESSIVE CROQUET

A very pleasant progressive croquet afternoon was given by Mrs. Garrard, president of the St. Heliers Croquet Club, last week. Mrs. Keesing and Mrs. Schnauer, secretary and president respectively of the Auckland Croquet Association, Mrs. Crowe, and about 45 members were present. Prizes were won by Mrs. Schnauer, Mrs. Clarke and Mrs. Roberts. The consolation prizes were won by Mrs. Russell, Mrs. Skeene and Mrs. Webb. Afternoon tea was much appreciated. The tables and pavilion were decorated with bowls and vases of beautiful shaded pink dahlias, michaelmas daisies and greenery. OTAHUHU W.C.T.U. The monthly meeting of the Otahuhu Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Methodist schoolroom on Thursday afternoon. MrS. W. Taylor, delegate to the Dominion Women's Christian Temperance Union Convention. held in Wellington in March, gave a full report of the meetings and the work done at the convention.
