ROYAL, KINGSLAND
“LEGION OF THE CONDEMNED” The great air picture, "The Legipn o£ the Condemned,” with Fay Wray j and Gary Cooper as the stars, will be shown again this evening at the Royal [ Theatre, Kingslar.d. It is a war picture treated in a new ; manner, with hardly a scene of trench i warfare, and with the war forming : merely a background for the principal j theme. The story is of a youth who j joined a group of self-condemned men who chose an honourable death on the field of .battle rather than yield to the inglorious fate which hounded each of them. It is into this group of reckless . beings that the young man, a newspaper reporter, has flung himself, em- „ bittered after his first love affair, seeking death with the rest. He is suddenly seized with a desire to live when he discovers that the girl he supported had betrayed him was really a member of the secret service, and that he has been assigned to carry her over the lines.
