BLOCKHOUSE BAY
TRANSPORT DIFFICULTIES
About 200 residents were present afi a meeting in the Blockhouse Bay Picture Hall last evening to discuss transport difficulties. The meeting was convened by Air. J, TV. Klealy and Mr. A. Guttormson. Mr. D. Wilson presiding. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Auckland. Transport Board, and four members* Messrs. E. J. Phelan. G. Ashley. .1* Wood and M. J. Coyle, were present, Mr. Allum explained the board's loan, proposals and a resolution agreeing lo support the £625,000 loan proposal was carried. A resolution asking the board to reconsider its decision regarding the Blockhouse Bay buses and to grant a through service to the city* was carried, unanimously. The chairman and members of thei board were thanked for their visit. A motion of thanks to Mr. H. Tiarks* ex-Mayor of Avondale, for his serviced to the district was also passed.
