OTAHUHU CLUB A large number of members and intending members cf the Otahuhu Golf Club attended the annual meeting on Thursday evening. Mr. B. H. Menzies, club captain, presided. The balance sheet, which was adopted, showed the finances of the club to be in a very sound condition. It was agreed to abolish for the present the usual entrance fee for men, and provision was made for junior male members. Eight new men members were elected. Several applications were received from intending women members, but as the membership is crowded, it was left to the committee’s discretion to deal with the matter.* The secretary reported that the links would be available for play at Easter. It was agreed that the official opening be held on Saturday, April 13. when rqixed foursomes will be played. Officers for the ensuing year are: Patron, Mr. 11. R. Mackenzie; president. Mr. S. W. House; vice-president, Mr. R. L. Brown; club captaip, Mr. B. H. Menzies; vice-captain. Mr. IJ. Macdonald; hon. secretary, Mr. Chas. R. Reader; women’s captain. Miss M. Cutforth; women’s secretary, Miss L. F. Mellsop; committee, Messrs. R. Hipkins, W. B. Eustace, B. O. Heather; hon. auditor, Mr. A. J. Clarkson. MATAMATA CLUB The seventh annual meeting of the Mataniata Golf Club was held on Thursday evening. Mr. W. Walker presided over a fair attendance. Officers elected were: President, Mr. W. Walker; captain, Mr. G. Fitzgerald; secretary and treasurer, LI. Hitchcock; management committee, Messrs. J. Carruthers, R. Burton, S. Gunn. A. Thomson. F. White, T. Stanley and E. C. Banks. The members present expressed their sympathy with Mr. Walker in the death of his wife, who was an enthusiastic member of the club. The season is to be commenced as early as possible with a nine-hole course to be increased to IS later on. HAMILTON LADIES’ CLUB The annual meeting of the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club was held last evening. Mrs. H. T. Gillies presided. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mrs. H. Douglas; president.
