ENGLISH WOMAN’S VISIT FARM SCIENCE ADVOCATE Miss Mary Glynne. of England, holder of a science fellowship under the International Federation of University Women, was welcomed by Auckland University women at a social last evening in the Y.W.C.A. Mrs. Alan Mulgan, who presided, introduced Miss Glynne to those at the social. An informal talk on the work of the federation was given by Miss Glynne, and she outlined its aims in Great Britain and abroad. She gave a brief historv of the fellowships and their holders. Great work toward scientific agriculture was being accomplished at the Rothamstead Institute. Hertfordshire. Similar centres were being formed. Diseases of wheat were investigated by Miss Glynne in Australia. She travelled in the “Better Farming Train,” on which specialists taught farmers almost at their doorsteps. Miss Glynne was sure that the federation, as an organisation, had much to contribute in uniting the opinion of educated women throughout the world.
