DAIRY COMPANY ACTIVITIES PAYMENTS TO SUPPLIERS The Hinuera Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., fixed its February pay-out on a basis of Is 5d a lb butter-fat, compared with Is 3td for the same month last year. Suppliers have received £ 5,522, against £4,853 in February, 1928.

The Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., is paying out £4,300 for February butter-fat. making total payment for season to date £33,250. The output to date is 275 tons, being an increase of 50 tons over the output for the corresponding period last year.

The Easfct Tamaki Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., fixed the rate of payout at Is GAd a lb butter-fat, plus Jd for shares for butter-fat supplied during February, the total amount being £8,217 14s 6d. For the corresponding month last year Is 5?.d was paid, the total being £3,092 19s Id. For the season to the end of February the total distribution has been £75,155. as against £46,955 for the same period last year.

The Waipa Dairy Company, for cream supplied during February, paid out £4,242 15s sd, against £2,331 2s 5d for the second month of last year. The price paid for superfine last month was Is 5d n lb, against Is 3Jd for the previous February

The Bay of Islands Co-operative Dairy Company paid OLit this week the sum of £7,153 12s 5d for butter-fat supplied during February, the advance being at the rate of Is 4d for first grade, and Is 4Jd for finest. The advance for March supply will be Is 5d and Js 5Jd, and in addition to this there will be also a deferred payment made of lid a lb for October supply and 2d a lb for November supply.

The Ruawai Co-operative Dairy Company’s pay-out for butter-fat supplied during February shows a good increase over that for February of*last season. In addition to the monthly cheque, paid this week, suppliers received by way of an extra payment on butter-fat supplied during the season £3,928 18s sd. The figures for the month of February, 1929. at Is 5d a lb are £9,971 2s sd, excluding the extra payment mentioned, against £6,390 5s 6d for February, 3 928. For the season to date the amount paid out is £77,251 11s 2d, against £49,007 16s 8d for the corresponding period last season, an increase of £25,243 14s 6d for the sea-

The combined pay-out from the two factories working in the Northern Wairoa district to date v is £301,434 6s 4d against £233,210 14s Sd last season, an increase of £65,223 11s sd. The figures for the two companies for the season to date are:—Northern Wairoa, £224,434 6s Sd; Ruawai, £77,251 11s 2d.

The Morrinsville Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., fixed the pay-out for the February supply at Is a lb butterfatfi, representing a distribution of £15,198. For the February supply last year, when the rate was Is 4rl a lb, £7,755 was paid out. During the past month the company manufactured 332 tons of butter, compared with an output of 62 tons in February, 1925. For the season to date 997 tons have been manufactured, an increase of 273 tons on the corresponding period of last season.

RISE IN METAL PRICES AUSTRALIAN SHARES RESPOND SYDNEY, Wednesday. The advance in the price of lead and copper in London caused an appreciation in the value of the shares in the Broken Hill mining properties to the extent of £600,000 on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday. Mount Lyell shares also benefitted. It is believed that some of the Broken Hill mines may b A reopened, and that prospect is creating excitement in the town.
